MAC Mineralize Skin Finish – Soft and Gentle review

I have been so in love with my highlighter; Mary-Lou Manizer by The balm for the longest time that I never cared to try any other highlighter…   But with great sadness I hit pan on the Mary-Lou Manizer 😦

So I decided it was time for me to venture out and try a new highlighter,  I picked up MAC mineralize skin finish in soft and gentle as I had heard some good things about the product.

I am one of those girls who LOVES themselves a good highlight and do go a little over the top sometimes and end up looking like a disco ball…. oops hehe.

I love the packaging of MAC products – Black with silver writing.  I think its simple yet sophisticated.  I also love the window compact so you are able to see the gorgeous highlighter.

It cost me $47 and contains 10g of product 🙂

When I first swatched the highlighter I knew it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship 😉 haha.  The product is extremely pigmented so a little goes a long way!

The colour is described as a “gilded peach bronze” and is a warm tone.  There is also a champagne colour mixed through.  The highlighter comes off as a frosted sheen on the skin (super stunning).

This highlighter gives your skin such a healthy glow and really does look amazing on, just make sure to apply with a light hand as I mentioned before its extremely pigmented! It also goes with any makeup look you create and is suited for all skin tones.

I cant believe I didn’t have this product in my collection until now?! I am sorry to say Mary-Lou but you have been replaced… My new holy grail highlighter is now Mac mineralize skin finish; soft and gentle.

If you don’t already own this highlighter then girl you are missing out! Get onto it now 🙂

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post.

ZOEVA Rose Golden Luxury Brush Set Review

Hi Lovely people,

Today I am here to review the ZOEVA Rose Golden Luxury brush set. If you follow me on my  Instagram you would have seen I received this amazing brush set recently and I have been testing the brushes out every day since then.

And my god I am in love with them, they are defiantly my new holy grail brushes.  They are just as good as my Sigma brushes! Saying that though I have had my Sigma brushes for almost a year and they are still perfect, so I am keen to see what the longevity of the ZOEVA brushes is like.

The Rose Golden Luxury brush set RRP  $65 Euro ($95.50 AUD)

In the Rose Golden Luxury set you get:

Face:
106 Powder: Apply loose and pressed powder

This brush has quickly become my favorite powder brush which I use daily, it applies the perfect amount of powder on your face and is so soft!
102 Silk Finish: Apply and blend foundation

I normally HATE applying foundation with a brush and always use my ChiChi Cosmetics blending sponge, but this buffing brush is heaven to apply foundation with! Blends the foundation in seamlessly and flawlessly straight away. No brush streaks or lines, just perfect!!

110 Face Shape: Contour the face shape with cream and powder products

I haven’t used this brush to contour, instead I use it to apply the my eye shadow base, it works perfectly with powder and cream!

127 Luxe Sheer Cheek: Apply powder blush

I use this brush to contour with, it gives you the most natural contour and is perfect for every day use!!  The brush is so soft and blends product flawlessly.

142 Concealer Buffer: Apply and blend concealer

I am not 100% sold on this brush as of yet. I am just so in love with blending my concealer with my blending sponge!!  It is a great quality, dense brush and does the job perfectly but just takes a little longer than the sponge to blend the concealer.

Eyes:
227 Luxe Soft Definer: Softly blend and smooth eyeshadow

This brush is amazing!  It applies eye shadow into my crease and blends out perfectly! It keeps the colour pigmented but perfectly blended. It very similar to my sigma E35 tapered blending.

231 Luxe Petit Crease: Accentuating and blending in the crease

I looooove this brush!  It has such precise placement of product but then smudges and blends out perfectly!

317 Wing Liner: Detailed eyeliner strokes and a perfect wing

This is just your basic winged eyeliner brush, it helps you create the perfect wing very quickly. It is not one of my favorite eyeliner brushes I own as it does take a little longer as the brush isn’t as firm and precise as other brushes.

(L-R) : 106 Powder, 102 Silk Finish, 110 Face Shaper, 142 Concealer Buffer, 317 Wing Liner, 127 Lux Sheer Cheek, 227 Luxe Soft Definer, 231 Luxe Petit Crease:

Firstly everyone can agree how stunning the brushes look keeping it simple but glamorous with black and rose gold. The brushes came perfectly packed in a sleek clutch with rose gold accents.

The brushes are hand crafted and made with high quality natural hair and synthetic taklon bristles, so they can be used with cream and powder based products.

I have not had any shedding at all from these brushes which I am extremely happy with!  ZOEVA Cosmetics have definitely won me over and I am eager to try some more of their products and brushes.  If you have been considering buying some of their brushes don’t wait any longer, they are worth every cent!

You can purchase them from the ZOEVA website and they ship to most countries but if you need shipping to another country which isn’t available, you are able to send them an email with the article name, quantity and delivery address including the country and the zip code.  They will then inform you whether they can ship to the desired country and the estimated shipping charges, which is great customer service!

Want that designer look but don’t want to pay the designer price? Well here’s the solution for you! ☺️

If you like are one of those girls who draw inspiration from those pictures of designer labels worn by celebs and models then your not alone. With my love of fashion I am always faced with the dilemma on whether or not the hefty price tag is worth it, especially if it is for a dress that i am only going to be wearing once or twice. Now you could do what I usually do and find a cheaper alternative or ‘copy’ of the design you like but sometimes they just don’t have the same look as an original piece or lack in quality.

There is a solution to this dilemma and it is as simple as hiring that dress/playsuit instead of spending hundreds of dollars! Hiring designer dresses is becoming more and more popular in recent times and it provides us with a simple solution which can save us hundreds.

I recently acquired 2 playsuits which were sent to me by the girls at Designer Night  both of which retail for around the $500 dollar mark. To me this price tag is something I could never see myself spending as I have other areas of my life where I also need to focus my earnings (savings and bills) like most people.

The playsuits I received cost only $80 each to hire which includes the cost of dry cleaning.

For me this is a very reasonable price to pay, and again if your like myself there is no point in paying full price for something that will get worn once or twice then find its way to the back of the wardrobe.

This was my favourite playsuit – Zimmerman Silk Veil Essenence playsuit. It is so stunning!

This playsuit is different to what I usually go for but I loved it!  The colour and the print was incredible. This is a Camilla brand playsuit in the print “Xanadu”.

So if your looking for that something special whether it be for an upcoming birthday or a special date where you really want to stand out in a crowd and impress, I highly recommend hiring an amazing designer brand outfit and paying a fraction of the cost.

There are many designer hire websites now but I highly recommen checking out Designer Night as they were so lovely to deal with.

I hope you have enjoyed this post!

Autumn/fall inspired makeup 🍂🍁💄

Hey babes!

Today I’m here with an Autumn/fall inspired makeup look. As it’s now Autumn here in Australia it seemed fitting ☺️

I had a rough idea of what I was going for but I mainly just winged it (not pun intended 😂) and played around with a few products.

I was pleasently surprised with the final look as I don’t normally opt for darker lips but I now think I might play around with darker shades more often!

Here are the products I used!

Primer/Foundation: I primed my face with Models Prefer liquid light primer and I went for a full coverage foundation and used the Loreal Infallible 24hour foundation.

Concelear: I used Maybelline dream lumi concealer to conceal under my eyes and highlight my face, I set this with Rimmel silky loose translucent powder.

Bronzer/blush: I used Chi Chi cosmetics mosaic bronzer to warm my face on the cheeks, temples and lower jawline. Maybelline medium nude blush was used for a natural flush of colour on the cheeks.

Contour/highlight: Both products I used were by The Balm. I used bahama mama to contour my cheeks and nose and used Mary-Lou manizer to highlight the tops of my cheeks, down my nose and cupids bow.

Eyes:  I used the Lorac Pro Pallete for the entire eye look.  Taupe was used in the crease and then sable to deepen the crease and darken the outer v. I then ran garnet trough the crease to warm it up. I used gold on the base of my lids and finished with white and nude to highlight my inner corner and eyebrow bone.   To do the winged liner I used Maybelline eye studio eyeliner and then finished the eyes with Rimmel extra 3D lash mascara.

Lips: On the lips I used one of my Nans lipsticks,  Estée Lauder chocolate plum.

To finish the look I set my face with Mac studio fix+ 😘

I hope you like the finished look and enjoyed reading my post. Dont forget to follow me on Instagram for more posts and updates!

Much love,
